It
is almost impossible to visit Myanmar and miss some kind of festival.
During full moon all kind of religious festivals are being held
througout the country.These can last up to four days. Also there
are special festivities for pagodas; remembering the day they were
builded or special occasions like the end of a season, a boy going
into a monastery and so on. This parade was being held for a boy
who was going into a monastery. A part of the life of the Buddha
is replayed in this parade when the Buddha left his fathers palace
and was informed suffering; death and poverty excisted.He than made
up his mind to study the meaning of life. The boy in the parade
is prince for one day also before his novitation as a monk. It is
called Shinpyu and Burmese make considerable debts for celibrating
this. |
