Padaung live in Kayah and Shan state west of Sawleen river and around the Pekon hills.The area is still off-limit for tourists.Also in Thailand there are some displaced Padaung to be found who make their living there by doing foto-sessions for tourists. Also in Myanmar Padaung know they can have an income by doing foto-sessions like this one.The Padaung showm here were hundreds of miles from home and stayed near Inle. Also called long-necks they call themselves Ka-kaung (hill top people). The necks are not long but the shoulders are pushed downwards by the brass neck rings , giving the impression of a long neck.
